Data Center Fire Detection & Suppression
Each colocation suite or Data Hall is equipped with a high sensitive smoke sampling detection system monitoring the air in three places; under the raised floor, at ceiling level and on the return air to the air conditioning units.
The VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Alert) is the most sensitive detection available. It detects a fire before visible smoke or flame is apparent. Through flexible, time controlled response to the detection of a fire situation, VESDA™ can alert in-house personnel to conduct an inspection of affected areas. This action can precede the automatic generation of a fire alarm, complete with its necessary interruption of daily routines and operations.
The first two alarm levels alert in-house personnel to a possible fire condition. The third, and last, alarm level typically generates an alarm in a building fire alarm control panel. Direct lines to fire stations, and automatic gas-based fire suppression systems provide world-class protection against fire at all times.
Fire suppression is supplied either via a dry action sprinkler system or inert gas, bespoke to customer requirements where possible
