The Global property consultancy firm, CBRE has been chosen by search engine giant, Google to manage its global property portfolio. The instruction includes the company’s office and datacentre properties across the world.
According to results from Google for the quarter ended March 31 2013, the firm owns and operates a US$6.39 billion portfolio of land and buildings, plus a further US$2.55 billion portfolio of property under construction.
According to reports, Google and CBRE have agreed the terms of the contract, which will run for three years initially and cover transaction management, project management and lease administration.
In addition to its sprawling office estate, the upcoming contracts will also cover Google’s portfolio of datacentres, including those in the US, plus centres in Finland and another in Belgium. In addition, the company has just opened two datacentre’s in Asia – one in Taiwan’s Changhua county and the other in Singapore, as part of a portfolio of 12 global datacentres.
CBRE recently purchased the data centre facilities management company Norland Managed Services.
